Looking into the kit…

.

How many people have jobs where specific tools are needed for the job?

How many people use tools with a lack of technique, thinking they can fake their way through the job?

.

I don’t know about you but I geek out over all new clips, capes, brushes and even my blow dryer. Getting new tools to try can make it all that much more fun while doing the work I love… but I really need very little when it comes down to the job.

.

There are so many tools that I use for doing hair that make my job easier, and allow me to create different techniques. As long as I have a strong foundation of those skills, anything is achievable, the tools I use are just an added bonus.

.

I find that getting excited about the little things, makes it even more fulfilling in that creative process, but none of it is required.

.

My mentor taught me that all you need is a pair of sheers, and a comb when cutting. The rest of the work is controlling the technique. Same applies with blowdrying. A brush and a dryer is all you need.

Sometime hairdressers get so distracted by all the new tools, they stop relying on the basics.

.

If you know the rules, you can bend them~ not break them.

.

What is 1 tool you use on your hair that you can’t be without?

Mine is the Dyson Dryer. Want to learn more? Check out @salonbilancio for more
