Hair Extensions for Fine and Thinning Hair

Postpartum, stress, dietary, or just fine hair that has never held volume. This is the work Nina loves most, and NBR® was built for it.

Why NBR® works for hair that other methods can't hold.

When a woman has hair loss due to postpartum, stress, or dietary challenges, I love being able to walk them through the possibilities, help solve some hair challenges, and give options. It is truly a joy to help a guest on their journey to loving and understanding their hair.

Most extension methods attach to individual strands, which is exactly what fine or thinning hair can't support. Natural Beaded Rows® attach in full rows with minimal contact points, no glue, and no tape. The weight is spread across the row instead of loaded onto single strands, which is why in most cases NBR® helps improve the long-term health of the natural hair underneath.

It is also why the consultation matters more here than anywhere. We look at the hair in our light, at the root, and tell you honestly whether it will hold a row, one row, or whether a color and cut plan is the better first step.

Good questions

Fine hair, thinning hair, and NBR®.

Can you wear hair extensions with thinning hair?
Often, yes. NBR uses full rows with minimal contact points and no glue or tape, so it is one of the gentlest methods for fine or thinning hair. It depends on the pattern of loss and the strength of the hair at the root, which is what the consultation is for.
Will extensions make hair loss worse?
Not when the method is right for the hair and the rows are maintained on schedule. Re-tightening every six to eight weeks keeps the weight distributed and the tension low.
What about postpartum hair loss?
Postpartum shedding usually peaks a few months after birth and regrows over the following year. Nina works with new mothers every week to add fullness back while the regrowth comes in.
Am I losing my hair or just shedding?
Everyone sheds. Losing is different. We wrote a guide on how to tell the two apart, and what to do about each.
